Independent research highlights Stellar Cyber’s connected AI SOC architecture, combining Multi-Layer AI™, native NDR, Open XDR, case-centered investigation and governed response
SACR evaluated 18 vendors across three operating environments and two dimensions: Architectural Alignment and Production Delivery. Architectural Alignment measures how completely a platform connects evidence assembly, investigation, decisioning, bounded authority, response execution, outcome verification and continuous improvement, while Production Delivery measures how reliably those capabilities operate in real-world environments.
Within the Emerging Players category, Stellar Cyber is positioned highest on the Architectural Alignment axis. The report identifies the company’s connected architecture — spanning data, detection, investigation, case management and governed response — as central to its position.
“The AI SOC market is moving beyond investigation assistants toward systems that can preserve evidence continuity and support governed action,” said Sean Sosnowski, Director of Research at SACR. “Stellar Cyber stands out among the Emerging Players for the architectural connectedness of its platform — linking broad telemetry, native NDR, case-centered investigation, AI-driven triage and response workflows. That foundation gives organizations a credible path to expand automation as evidence, governance and verified outcomes mature.”
“The next generation of the SOC will not be built on a single kind of AI,” said Aimei Wei, Founder and CTO of Stellar Cyber. “It requires multiple forms of AI working together on the same evidence. Machine learning detects what is unusual. GraphML connects the relationships across users, assets and activity. LLMs help analysts understand the incident. Agentic AI investigates, triages and drives the next action within defined guardrails. The advantage comes from connecting those layers to a common data and case architecture, so each step has the context of what came before it and humans remain in control of consequential decisions.”
Multi-Layer AI Built on a Connected Evidence Foundation
Stellar Cyber’s AI SOC architecture combines a unified data and case foundation with Multi-Layer AI™ applied across the security operations lifecycle. Its Open XDR platform collects, normalizes, enriches and correlates security data across network, endpoint, identity, cloud, application and log sources, giving each layer of AI access to shared evidence and context.
Native network detection and response is a core part of that architecture. Stellar Cyber provides its own physical and virtual sensors, cloud-based traffic collection and network-flow ingestion rather than relying on a third-party NDR product.
This gives the platform access to network flow, session, protocol and file-movement evidence that can help identify lateral movement, command-and-control activity and data exfiltration. That evidence is analyzed alongside endpoint, identity, firewall, SaaS, cloud, vulnerability and log telemetry in a common data model.
Multi-Layer AI™ Across the Security Workflow
Rather than treating generative or agentic AI as a standalone assistant, Stellar Cyber applies multiple forms of AI to distinct security operations problems — all working from the same correlated data and case model.
Machine learning identifies suspicious behavior and reduces the initial alert set. GraphML and graph analytics connect related users, assets, alerts and activities to expose relationships that can be difficult to see in isolation. LLM-based investigation and case analysis summarize evidence and explain incident context. Agentic AI, including Agentic Auto Triage, investigates observables, produces findings and helps drive the next step, while case orchestration and response integrations carry approved decisions into operational systems.
Together, these layers form Stellar Cyber’s Multi-Layer AI™ architecture: ML for detection, GraphML for relationship and context, LLMs for investigation and explanation, and Agentic AI for triage and action. The result is not another AI layer above a SIEM or alert queue, but intelligence embedded across detection, investigation, decisioning and response.
The Case as the Operational System of Record
The case is the primary operational object within Stellar Cyber’s architecture. Related alerts, entities, network activity, investigation findings, AI-generated analysis, analyst decisions and response actions are maintained together as an incident progresses.
This case-centered model preserves evidence continuity from detection through investigation and closure, which analysts inspect behind AI-generated conclusions, validate recommendations, approve or reject actions and retain a record of the decisions made during the incident.
The approach supports what SACR describes as bounded authority: allowing AI to perform defined tasks where evidence, governance and reliability support that level of autonomy, while keeping analysts in control of consequential decisions.
An Open Architecture Across the Security Stack
Stellar Cyber works with the security products organizations already operate. The platform integrates with third-party endpoint, identity, firewall, cloud, vulnerability-management, ticketing and workflow systems rather than requiring customers to replace existing control points.
This open approach means Stellar Cyber correlates evidence across heterogeneous environments while leaving enforcement with the systems that already control endpoints, identities, firewalls, cloud services and business applications.
The platform supports enterprise SOCs, co-managed environments, MSSPs and MDR providers. Its multitenant architecture enables service providers to apply common detection, investigation and response processes across customers while preserving tenant-specific data, policies and controls.
A Multi-Layer AI Path to the AI SOC
Stellar Cyber represents a platform-oriented path to the AI SOC in which broad telemetry, Open XDR, native NDR and case management provide the evidence foundation, while Multi-Layer AI™ applies the right form of intelligence at each stage of the workflow. That architecture supports what SACR describes as a governed progression toward autonomy.
The company’s position in the SACR Technoscope reflects the degree to which Stellar Cyber connects data, detections, cases, investigations, AI-driven decisioning, workflows and response within a unified security operations platform. SACR identifies native NDR, data handling, graph correlation, AI triage, multi-tenancy and case-to-action workflow as important points of differentiation.
